Greer wants to get season turned in the right direction against Bulldogs.....

The Greer Yellow Jackets need a "get well" game. They say the best thing for a good team after a tough loss is to get right back on the field. It almost seemed as if the Jackets wanted to ride the bus from Rock Hill straight to Berea. Greer has found themselves at a crossroads in their season many times over the past 20 years facing a matchup with the Bulldogs. While the Jackets have won the last 16 games in the series that dates back to 1968, in 7 of the past 10 in the series, starting with the Berea game, Greer has gone on to compile a 63-12 record for the remainder of the season. Evidence that for whatever reason, this game has propelled the Jackets into the rest of the season. So if history can repeat itself again tonight, it may be a good several weeks to be a Yellow Jacket.

While Greer played extremely well in the 29-28 overtime loss at Rock Hill, the Bulldogs were getting a win of their own at Carolina Academy. Berea won that game 20-13 behind the running of Eddie Williams' 126 yards and two scores. Williams returns this year after rushing for over 1000 yards last year. Bryan Davis is in his 3rd year as Head Coach of the Bulldogs with a 10-13 record. Greer defeated Berea last season at Dooley Field behind Dominique Parks mamouth 332 rushing yards. While the Jackets ground game is still potent, they have shown to be much more balanced so far this year. Dakari Sitton leads on the ground with 218 yards in two games, while Reese Hannon has socked up 437 passing yards and 4 TD's. Greer has 4 recievers with at least 7 catches, including Jon Redmon, Quardick Mack, Jihad Lateef, and D'Ante Fleming. Redmon leads the way with 13 catches for 163 yards. The Jacket defense has been solid and showed marked improvement in stopping the run between weeks one and two. Coach Will Young says he is looking for continued improvement and that his guys deserve to get some rewards soon. "Our kids have had a great attitude all summer. They have worked hard. We as coaches probably took the loss last week harder than the kids. They just came right back to work and started preparing for Berea. We are ready to see them get rewarded for their hard work with something tangible, like a good win."

Here are the directions: From W WADE HAMPTON BLVD/SC-290/US-29/SC-101 near Ryans Steak House: Continue to follow W WADE HAMPTON BLVD/US-29 for 4.2 miles. Turn  RIGHT onto RUTHERFORD RD for 3.9 miles. Then, Turn RIGHT onto N PLEASANTBURG DR/SC-291 for 2.0 miles. N PLEASANTBURG DR/SC-291 becomes SC-253. You will then go 4.2 more miles. Turn RIGHT onto WHITE HORSE RD/US-25 for 1.7 miles. Turn RIGHT onto BURDINE DR and you are there. The Yellow Jacket Sports Network will be broadcasting on AM-800 WPJM beginning at 6:00 PM.
